And Now the News - Update on the workshops held jointly by Bichitra Pathshala and iLead

AND NOW THE NEWS: A brief report

The broadcast journalism workshop "And Now the News" was held at iLEAD from June 2 to 7, 2014. Snehasish Sur, Chief of News Bureau Doordarshan took the inaugural session, followed by Rupali Saxena Bhattacharya and Mrityunjoy Chatterjee. The participants made a 22 minutes news bulletin with 6 news capsules. The practicals sessions were guided by Suchi Maheshwari, Aminur Rahman and Subhajit Prasad. These sessions were conducted with iLEAD’s technical facilities.

At the end of the sixth day, the participants went home happy with the DVD of their work and the certificate. 33% of the students felt that the workshop was too short. The rest felt that the duration was just right. 33% felt that the workshop was great. The rest felt that it was good. All of them wanted to learn editing, but in six days it was not possible to teach them editing.
